Lunch & Learn

Presented by: Michelle MacIsaac

Have you ever contemplated that a workplace, with the right culture and psychological safety, could actually be a protective factor? Many of us think about our workplaces with a laundry list of challenges, workload imbalance, conflict, and overwhelm. Whether you are managing distressed customers, trying to lead a community, educating children, or working in health care there are more challenges than ever in our daily lives. Organizational culture can add to this burden, or it can act as a buffer for the daily grind. Unhealthy workplace culture does not need to be inevitable.

Holding the Line (HTL) is a model for change and healing in our organizations. HTL was created from my own experience as a Social Work Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), my experience and work with Circle of Security and, most recently my training in Somatic Experiencing. In my role with the CAF, I was often in the position to offer leadership insight into our larger community when crisis or distress was on the rise. I gained tremendous experience in organizational assessment and understanding of leadership challenges. My clinical work with trauma, my own experience with PTSD, and expanding understanding of relational health and embodied trauma led me down a path to contemplate healing in the workplace.

I invite you to join me to explore a new way to think about our work environment, some simple and key components that can change, and consider your potential contribution in leading change within your own organization. I hope you will join me! There has never been a greater need for cultural shift than right now.
